1 - PHASE 2 COMPLETE!

The Phase 2 release of the new Control Centre is now complete and all Skymarket customers now have a raft of new facilities available to them.

Amongst these new tools are the facility to set up email accounts and check email logins online, along with the ability to set up and configure most of our standard services.

New functionality will be coming online throughout 2005 and while the new control panel is highly functional, we are still relying on feedback from customers for usability issues.

We would like to be able to supply a control centre that does what YOU need it to do, rather than one that only does what we THINK you need it to do. At its best this is a consultative process and if you have any good ideas about changes you think should be made then please do contact us either on 0870 474 8888 or by email to sales@skymarket.co.uk and let us know.

Any original ideas adopted will be rewarded with bottles of wine!

2 - SPAM SPAM SPAM!

Our new Armoured Email service is for those who either can't abide spam or are having real problems with it and would like to take serious steps to prevent it. You can read about the service at: http://www.skymarket.co.uk/email_armouredemail.php

For our part we continue to monitor our network for people trying to send out large volumes of spam and we have taken steps to prevent this too.

Our own anti-spam measures may affect legitimate users who inadvertently have large or clogged mailboxes (often a good clue that spamming is occurring) and if you're having problems with this then please call the support team on 0845 475 2202.

3 - DOMAIN SCAMS

Domain scams are still quite common and while most customers are now familiar with these, we still get the odd call from people who have been caught out. If you receive a renewal reminder regarding a domain which you believe is with us and you are unsure what it means, then either log in to your account or contact us and check it's status. Don't be panicked into giving them money as you will rarely see it again.

Domain Slamming - Usually a letter encouraging you to renew your domain, but not from your actual Hosting company

Defensive Registrations - Usually a phone call implying someone is about to buy a domain very similar to your current one and offering you the chance to buy it first.

Domain Sales - Usually a phone call offering you a domain similar to your own that you can buy too.

All 3 types should be considered deceptive practice and if you are contacted like this then you should get the details of the person calling or writing to you and inform us at your earliest opportunity so we can advise you.
