NAMES PROVIDED BY THE REGISTRY:
The .uk.co subdomain has been closed down by La Universidad de los Andes, which is the present Registrar of this particular top level domain type. This means that anyone with a .uk.co domain will be unable to use it for the foreseeable future. Some industry analysts see this development as an early indication of the impending instability of the less well known domain types and have recommended that the focus remains on the dozen or so well-established suffixes. It remains to be seen whether the new domain types like .pro or .eu become popular and opinion is as yet divided.
